The Time Has Come
"Dear Elder Forrester,
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the California Sacramento Mission....
Your purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement...
Greater blessings and more happiness than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly and prayerfully serve the Lord in this labor of love among His children...
Sincerely,
Thomas S. Monson, President
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
"Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men. Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day. Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work." D&C 4:1-3

My Laotian Sister

This is a picture of Mae ("Mama") Bhok, a wonderful LDS woman who has taken care of my son as if he were family. It is customary for the Laotian women to give each of the new missionaries their Laotian "name". Mae Bhok, upon meeting Timothy his first week in Sacramento, named him "Beautiful Lily". I won't attempt to put the Laotian words here. She called me on Thanksgiving to let me know that she had fed him (one of my worries), and then again on Christmas day! In the picture with her are her grandchildren that she is raising, Joseph and Princess.
A Miracle For Me At The MTC!
